Every day, wherever we operate, our employees encounter young people with incredible potential. They have big ideas—all they need is a little help. That’s why SNCF created its own foundation and began working in local communities. Each year the Foundation chooses more than 250 projects suggested by our employees, using annual funding of €3 million to help promising young people get ahead and put their ambitions to work.

SLL (Sète-Lorient-London) White Horses is a Franco-British organization that teaches young people basic living skills. Supported by the SNCF Foundation and Eurostar, SLL buys horses from the Camargue in southern France. Disadvantaged youngsters from France and Britain then spend six months riding them across France and into England in a Caravan of Hope that covers 85 stages and 1,800 km. Along the way, the young people relearn how to live in community, and the horses are later donated to Riding for the Disabled centres, where they participate in therapy for handicapped children and adults.
By partnering with SLL and supporting the 2012 Caravan of Hope, the SNCF Foundation and Eurostar are promoting diversity and extending their sponsorship abroad.
projects received support in 2011.
