To make your family trip a great experience, we’ve designed compartments and areas especially for parents travelling with children.*

• On daytime Intercité trains requiring reservations you’ll find 6-seat family compartments complete with a nursery unit that includes a changing table, bottle-heater and storage space for your baby pushchair. Next door is a play area for children—a safe place where youngsters can enjoy themselves throughout your trip.

• On Intercité overnight trains, sleeping children are protected from falls by a safety rail and protective netting—and you can rest easy knowing your child is safe. 

• Travelling by TGV? You’ll find a nursery area with a changing table, and the café-bar staff will be happy to heat bottles. TGV Family trains even offer children’s activities, so you can relax and enjoy the trip. Reserve your seats when you buy your ticket; this service is available only during school holidays and at the weekend.

We’ve linked up with world-class designers and interior decorators to create stylish train environments just for you. Roomy, inclinable seats for sitting or resting, footrests, adjustable reading lights, power outlets and coat hooks, all designed for your onboard comfort.

On all trains requiring reservations, you’ll find special areas for chatting and phoning, and you can recharge your computer or mobile phone at convenient power outlets.  

Wheelchair spaces are also available for travellers with reduced mobility who cannot transfer easily to a standard seat.

Choose the seat that suits you best. On our trains requiring reservations, you can opt for:

• single seats, two side-by-side seats, or groups of four seats in first class
• facing or side-by-side seats in second class

In some trains, you can even specify a seat facing forward or backwards.

For overnight travel, choose an inclinable seat or a couchette, as you like. Intercité overnight trains also offer compartments for couples or individuals, families or groups of friends. Women travelling alone can select a compartment for women only.

Feel like a coffee? A snack? A full meal? Head for the TGV café-bar. Meet up with friends or read your favourite magazine in a relaxed, friendly area that is open throughout your trip.

And all of our Trainhôtel trains offer a restaurant car, a comfortable place to unwind and enjoy a tasty meal.
