In-station information
& services

To make your journey smoother, we provide the same level of information and services in our stations that you’ll find aboard your train. Whether you're travelling on business, going on holiday, or just stopping by to shop or meet friends, our stations are designed for you.

What our employees say

“There’s no such thing as routine when you work with passengers. Every day brings new clients, and I adapt to each one of them, taking the time to guide, inform and reassure them. Bottom line: I need to be in every part of the station, ready to assist our clients.”

Tatiana, in-station sales representative

SNCF employees:
on trains
& in stations

Our employees are ready to assist you throughout your journey, in the station and aboard your train. Whether traffic is smooth or disrupted, they’re on hand to keep you informed and meet your needs, whatever those may be.

In the station, our sales staff can help you plan your journey and provide timely travel information at all times. And you can turn to them for any questions about after-sales service. They’re ready to help you find the best possible solution for your needs.

Once you’ve boarded your train, your conductor will see that the on-board staff assist you.

The station staff ensure that trains depart on time, station facilities run smoothly, and you are completely satisfied.

Should service be disrupted, some 1,500 volunteers support our conductors by informing and assisting you. They track missed connections, provide you with claim forms when your train doesn’t arrive on schedule, and even hand out boxed meals and bottled water during major delays. They’re also on hand in the station to orient you during peak travel periods.

Porters, trolleys
& lockers

We offer a variety of luggage solutions to help you move smoothly through the station:

  • porters are available to carry your bags in most major French stations. You’ll recognize them by their Service en gare badges.
  • trolleys can help with bulky luggage. Look for them at key points on platforms and at the entrances to the station
  • left luggage facilities allow you to drop off bags in the station for as little as an hour, or up to 3 days. This service is available at our Angers, Avignon-Centre, Bordeaux, Cannes, Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Paris stations
