Buying
your tickets

Need to buy or book tickets? Easy. You can get SNCF tickets:

  • on the Internet
  • by telephone
  • at SNCF stations—ticket window or self-service machine
  • at SNCF sales offices
  • through authorized travel agencies

We also offer services that allow you to:

  • place an option on your TGV ticket, and confirm and pay later
  • choose your seat aboard your train
  • avoid waiting in line by making an appointment at an SNCF point of sale that offers this service.

JUST THE TICKET

Choose the ticket that’s right for you.

Paperless ticket: an electronic ticket that you can print or download to your mobile or tablet. The type of ticket you receive will depend on your carrier. 

  • E-ticket*: available at all points of sale, it’s issued in your name and doesn’t need to be stamped. You can print your e-ticket confirmation at home or at a self-service machine in an SNCF station. Or download it to your mobile or tablet with the SNCF, TGV Pro or voyages-sncf.com app
  • Ticketless Thalys**: available exclusively for Thalys destinations in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
  • Print@home Eurostar**: for journeys between London, Paris and Brussels on Eurostar trains
  • Ticketless Italo**: for journeys between Italy and France on Italo trains
  • Printable Ouigo** ticket: a non-transferable ticket, issued in your name, for travel aboard Ouigo trains

IATA ticket: a paper ticket that you must stamp before you board your train. Available via the Internet and from self-service machines in SNCF stations and sales offices. Or call 3635 (+33 8 92 35 35 35 outside France). If you choose the home delivery option, your ticket should arrive in two to four business days.

TICKET TIPS

Already a member of SNCF’s loyalty programme? Load your ticket onto your loyalty card and simply present your card for both boarding and ticket checks. And when you use our TGV Pro and SNCF mobile apps, you don’t even need your card—everything you need is already in your pocket.

Out of battery? Lost your smartphone? No problem. Simply print your e-ticket from the confirmation sent to your email account.

Want to receive paper tickets at your home address? If you’re located in continental France*, choose home delivery, and your tickets will be delivered free of charge in two to four business days.

Exchanges
& refunds

Need to change your travel date or your destination? Depending on the train and fare you choose, you may be able to exchange or cancel your ticket or get a refund. Ask for details when you book.


Traffic updates

You’ll find full information on train departures and arrivals on the Internet, but you can also use your landline, our mobile app, or our CD-ROM. And of course departures and arrivals are displayed in our stations. In every case, you’ll get real-time rail traffic updates, plus any changes in our train timetables.
