Our solutions
for travelling
with your bike

We offer two options for travelling with your bicycle on SNCF trains:

  • treat it as carryon luggage. Fold or disassemble your bicycle*, pack it in a bike bag no larger than 120 cm high x 90 cm wide and be sure to tag it. As long as there’s space available, your bicycle travels free on all our trains.
  • place it in the designated area for bicycles, as long as space is available. Most of our trains have this dedicated space: look for the bicycle icon.

*Only standard-size bicycles are allowed on board. On-board storage cannot accommodate recumbent bikes, tricycles, tandems or towing bicycles of any kind.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your bicycle throughout your journey, and you must carry it on and off the train yourself. To make boarding easier for you and for your fellow passengers, please arrive at least 20 minutes before your train departs.

For the safety of all, please ensure that your bicycle does not create any hazard and does not block the movement of other passengers or SNCF employees. Inside our stations, please remember to dismount and walk your bicycle.

When trains are crowded, we may be forced to exclude bicycles to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers.
