Conditions
of Purchase

Our purchasing procedures encourage competition and follow applicable law.

Purchasing
and Qualification

Purchases which require qualification
When a purchase is rail industry specific or security-related, or requires specialized knowledge, SNCF solicits tenders from companies with advance qualification. Every year, SNCF publishes a qualification notice for each purchasing segment in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). If your company would like to apply for qualification, please consult the notice for your segment.

Purchases which do not require qualification
Products, services and engineering works that do not appear in the OJEU list do not require advance qualification. In these cases, we solicit tenders from companies which meet our selection criteria.

Please note
SNCF solicits tenders from as many candidate companies as required by the nature of the contract. Winning qualification or responding to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union does not guarantee that your company will be invited to tender.

Tender Notices

OJEU notices
These notices are published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). There are two types:

  • Qualification notice— some products require advance qualification.
  • Tender notices— these announcements solicit tenders for specific projects.

Non-OJEU announcements
These invitations to tender do not appear in official notices and are usually used by regions to find service providers.
