Thanks to SNCF’s partnership with Deutsche Bahn, you can travel by high-speed train from Paris and Marseille to ten German cities via Strasbourg or Forbach. Whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure, you’re sure to enjoy the journey.

TGV and ICE offer:

  • service to ten German cities—Augsburg, Baden-Baden, Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Munich, Saarbrücken, Stuttgart and Ulm.
  • 320 km/h trains that whisk you from Paris to Saarbrücken in 1h45, from Mannheim in 3h05, and Frankfurt in 3h48
  • daily departures linking Paris-Est station with Frankfurt, Mannheim, Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken

On-board services

Our Franco-German team

On-board personnel include a French conductor and a German conductor who speaks French, German and English. Our employees will welcome you and ensure that you have a smooth, pleasant journey—and they can even sell you metro tickets to save time at your destination.


Catering à la carte

Enjoy a delicious, balanced meal inspired by local cuisine. In first class, enjoy service at your seat at any time of day on international journeys lasting over one hour(1).

On ICE trains, the dining car and bistro offer a range of dishes made with organic ingredients; choose from a selection of recipes specially designed by an award-winning chef.

On board your TGV, you can visit the new café-bar for hearty snacks and tasty meals anytime during your trip. Just ask for the menu.

First class

With a 1st class ticket you can relax in our Grand Voyageur lounges in our Paris-Est, Strasbourg, Lyon and Marseille stations, and in the DB lounges in the Frankfurt, Mannheim, Stuttgart and Munich stations. There you’ll find the day's newspapers, a WiFi connection, fax and photocopy* machines, plus snacks and light meals at the bar*. (Hours and opening times may not be the same in both countries.) On board, Le Monde and Die Welt are complimentary, and you can ask our on-board personnel to book a cab and have it waiting for you at the station.

Family travel

Travelling with young children? Take advantage of our Espace Famille in 2nd class. You’ll find six adjustable seats separated from the rest of the passengers by a glass door, a play area for children, a large fold-away table, and room for a pushchair. There’s even a nursery compartment nearby.
