SNCF Proximités introduces two new widgets, and information leaps forward. It's for everyone and it's free.

Widget - what's one of them? It stands for Windows Gadget - an application that you can install on your computer in one click, to keep you up-to-date without needing to use your Internet browser.

Handy! Here are our latest two widgets. 'Next Departure', gives you the 12 next train departures in real time (TGV, TER, Corail InterCités, and Corail) from one of 2,500 stations in memory. Even better: it also gives you information on delays and cancelled trains. 'Itinerary Lookup' (available soon), will show you the shortest way by train from one city to another.

How does it work? Connect to the TER website and download the widget you are interested (or both) onto your computer's desktop. It's very simple and completely free. Looking for a timetable or an itinerary? No more need to browse the Internet! Just click on the icon, ask, and get the information you need.

So, is it just a gadget?Starting now, you have direct, permanent access to up-to-the-minute information, and all the SNCF offers at your fingertips.
