Hold the last bus!

Buses, connections

09/09/22

Fed up with being left behind by the last bus? It's a thing of the past! 5 new 'guaranteed connection' charters have been signed in the Paris region.

5 stations on RER line D are getting guaranteed connections* from 17 September. The 19 lines of the Courriers de l'Ile-de-France company which serve them are making a commitment. The last bus of the day will wait for the train it connects with, for up to 20 minutes. Even better! This commitment is being extended to cover the last train on all lines.

30 stations in the Paris region are now offering passengers this peace of mind, thanks to agreements signed between Transilien SNCF and 10 different bus or coach operators, under the aegis of the STIF. The Paris Region transport authority is co-ordinating the programme of improved connections and financing the service.

The SNCF group is involved too. Its "Synchro Ile-de-France" programme is promoting the "train-bus" partnership that we call intermodality. It brings together Transilien SNCF for trains, Keolis for buses, and EFFIA, a specialist in information exchange between transport modes.
For example: since 2008, Transilien SNCF has been communicating its timetables with all road transporters serving stations, so that timetables can be harmonised. In the event of problems on its network, the relevant operator informs the others who reorganise their service as a result. This information-sharing system already covers nearly 90 stations. Get train timetables on the bus, or check out bus timetables at the station when getting off the train - it's another great initiative from the SNCF. Yet another way we are improving train services...
