101: the number of Accessiweb criteria to fulfill in order to achieve level Silver. The website ter-sncf.com fulfilled all of them, which allowed SNCF to earn this precious accreditation given by the association BrailleNet at the start of May. Just to give a few examples, the content of ter-sncf.com is designed so as to be compatible with various assistive technologies (braille, audio support for the visually impaired...). It has graphics with good contrast which makes it more readable. Character size can be increased and all photos are annotated. This means that anyone can use all the content and services on the website, regardless of their disability. TER has not stopped at accreditation, but has simplified the browsing experience by selecting a simple tree structure and an identical page format for all menus. This helps internet users find their way around and makes browsing more intuitive. Improvements for both people with disabilities and the able-bodied. The website ter-sncf.com, the national portal, split into 20 regional TER sites, got a make-over in 2009. The new website lets you access all main services (itineraries, timetables, products, prices) and real-time rail service in one click, and also offers a personalised account where the customer can register their favourite journeys and activities. The result is more than 2.8 million visits a month since the start of the year and an identical web experience for people with disabilities thanks to the efforts of TER SNCF to make it accessible to all. |
