Large families.Low prices for all the family. To have the family railcard order or renewal form sent to your home address, follow this link: 1 or 2 children under 18 is not enough to qualify for the 'Carte Famille Nombreuse', but is too much to pay full price for tickets on a modest income. If you fit into this category, then you could qualify for the 'Carte Enfant Famille' that has been launched (and financed) by the French Secretary of State for the Family. Everyone has the right to travel, and this is a little helping hand which will benefit 3 million households, that's over 9 million people. New Family Railcard. It offers reductions for trains where booking is mandatory (TGV, Téoz, Lunéa) and you can get between 25% and 50% off (subject to availability) first and second class seats. Children between aged 4-12 travel for half the adult price and under-4s are free. Children with the card will always get reduced fares, travelling with or without their parent or guardian. However, parents have to travel with their child or children to get the reduction. Two conditions apply. You must have one or two children under 18 living at home and a family income under a threshold set in line with the 'Allocation de Rentrée Scolaire' limit. The CAF or CMSA child benefit organisations will decide on your entitlement. You can then apply on line at voyages-sncf.com. The application fee is still €15, but the new railcard offers three years of reductions, instead of just one year previously. |
