Up and running. Since the middle of May, passengers fined by an SNCF agent have been able to pay their penalty fares online by logging onto the sitewww.contravention-sncf.fr. It's sure to save you time. Paying fines is a bit like paying taxes. It's not always a lot of fun, but it's one of those things good citizens have to do. What you want is for it to be as quick and simple as possible, which is exactly why the SNCF has just set up a system for paying penalty fares online. The secure site www.contravention-sncf.fr has been up and running since the middle of May, is open between 6 am and midnight and lets passengers pay their fines with just a few clicks. All you have to do is log on to the website, follow the instructions and the job's done. Please not, however, that the virtual payment office only accepts full payment of penalty fares. For part payments, you need to pay by post, by sending the amount to one of our collection centres, or by telephone by calling one of our telephone operators. Last but not least, let us remind you that penalty fares are applied when you break the rules. If you haven't had time to buy or validate your ticket, don't forget that you can always go and see one of the ticket collectors to sort out the situation immediately after your train leaves... |
