E-ticketing is here... It was trialled in 2009 on 14 routes and 94% of passengers surveyed approve. It means you don't have to pick up your ticket at the station or validate it, and you can change it (from the comfort of your own home) right up to the moment the train departs. The SNCF is catching up on the airlines. E-tickets can be printed whenever you want, wherever you want. And they're even better for "Grand Voyageur" frequent travellers! Your ticket goes on your membership card, and that's all you need to show the train manager on board. The SNCF has invested €50 million in this project, which is being rolled out this year in France and abroad, in Luxembourg, Switzerland and Germany. Top up your travel pass at home - a dream come true for the millions of passengers who use the SNCF every day. The SNCF provides you with a card reader for free. You connect it to your computer to top up your (monthly or weekly) pass at home, at the office, or even when you're away using a 3G connection. No more queuing at the ticket desk or machine! 1,200 Navigo pass users in the Paris region tested the system in 2009, and it is now about to be extended to all 3.5 million pass holders. It will also be used for TER services, starting in Brittany. Try out our electronic after-sales service. Contact SNCF customer service by e-mail and get a reply within 48 hours! This is the idea being tested on the www.voyages-sncf.com website for customers with e-tickets and online printed tickets. It will gradually be extended to cover all Mainline passengers, whether they purchase their ticket online or not. The SNCF is now just an e-mail away! |
