The SNCF works with partners around the world in order to stay ahead of the game in railway research and develop future transport systems.

Prestigious partnerships. Within France, SNCF cooperates with the highest-profile research organisations (CNRS, INRETS, Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées) and with university-based researchers (LAAS, LIMOS, Ecole des Mines, INRIA, Paris VI and more). Our partnerships even go beyond the French borders. We work with Southampton, Delft and Swansea Universities, the École Polytechnique de Montréal, MIT in Boston and RTRI in Japan.

Flagship programmes. SNCF Research is involved in 22 projects linked to PREDIT, the French research programme for innovation in land transport, whose role is to develop projects based on the findings of the Grenelle environmental consultation. Marie-Pierre Meynard, Executive Manager of SNCF Innovation & Research, is a member of the programme's Steering Committee. SNCF Research is also involved in the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and participates in 20 of its projects.
