It's a new idea very familiar to our grandparents, and it's continuing because it's an excellent one.
The SNCF's roots
Do you remember when... locomotives used to sport the insignia of the regions or towns they passed through? In the carriages, next to the doors and vestibules, sepia photos evoked the beauty of the French countryside. Today, riveted iron has given way to printed stickers, but the idea is the same: they symbolise SNCF's strong territorial ties and its unfailing partnership with local authorities.
Forward, together!
It is fantastic what can be done. In 2006 the 'One Idea, One Station' campaign proved it. Some 300 station managers approached their mayors to co-manage a project: a bike garage here, an exhibition there, or flowerbeds around stations. This dynamic partnership is continuing, and the insignias are making a comeback.
Roll on the inauguration...
The new insignia will bring together the colours of your town (your département or local district) and those of the SNCF. You choose the media: freight train, TER (regional train) or TGV, locomotive or carriage. The inauguration event will take place at the station and is an opportunity for everyone to get together: local stakeholders and residents, railway workers and SNCF customers. The town festival begins and the mobile 'calling card' is launched.
