Which SNCF pass is best for you? How do you collect your card? Here are answers to the most common questions from SNCF customers across all communications channels.

SNCF passes & cards

Collect your card from the points of sale in an SNCF station, or download the SNCF app to store it electronically on your smartphone. 

When you buy your pass, you’ll immediately receive an email containing your card number. You can also collect your physical card immediately after purchase.

If you travel regularly 

Avantage Jeune Card (ages 12-27): enjoy benefits on all your journeys with TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS. You’ll get a 30% discount on 1st and 2nd class travel, fare caps in 2nd class, and last-minute “No Flex” offers. 

Avantage Adulte card (ages 27-59): enjoy benefits on all your journeys with TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS. You’ll save 30% on 1st and 2nd class travel in France and other countries (applies to 1 one-way journey on Saturday or Sunday; 1 one-way journey during the week when you travel with a child age 4-11; and return journeys that include at least one Friday, Saturday or Sunday night). You’ll also get fare caps in 2nd class, a 60% discount for up to 3 accompanying children, and last-minute “No Flex” offers.  

Avantage Senior Card (age 60 and up): enjoy benefits on all your journeys with TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS. You’ll get a 30% discount on 1st and 2nd class travel, fare caps on 2nd class, and last-minute “No Flex” offers. 

Avantage Famille card (ages 27-59): this card is no longer available for sale, but remains valid until its expiry date. If you wish, you can convert your Avantage Famille card into an Avantage Adulte card (ages 27-59) right away, without waiting until it expires. 

Familles Nombreuses Card: If you’re a TGV INOUI, TER, INTERCITÉS or Transilien traveller with at least three children under 18, you can save up to 75% on tickets with the Familles Nombreuses card. Everyone in the family gets 30%-75% off the full Loisir fare for TGV INOUI, TER and INTERCITÉS trains (conditions apply), plus 50% off tickets for the Transilien network in the Paris region. And you have options for travel in both 1st and 2nd class. This easy-to-use card is valid for 3 years and costs just €19 for the whole family. 

If you travel every day 

Weekly and monthly Forfait pass: if you travel every day during a short period with TGV INOUI, INTERCITÉS or TER, our passes have a lot to offer. Get train tickets from just €1.50, enjoy free exchanges, and choose the validity period that’s right for you. 

If you travel year-round

MAX ACTIF and MAX ACTIF+: if you travel the same route every day, all year round, our passes have a lot to offer. Get hundreds of free bookings, free ticket exchanges, and payment in 12 instalments. 

If you travel often 

Liberté card (for all frequent travellers): enjoy guaranteed discounts all year long, and 100% flexible tickets. This card is perfect if you travel on business or make more than 4 return journeys a year. Exchanges and refunds are free, and ticket exchanges are guaranteed. You’ll also save 50% on up to 3 accompanying children. 

MAX JEUNE pass (ages 16-27): If you travel at least twice a month and your plans are flexible, MAX JEUNE is for you. You can travel as often as you like on TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS trains with required booking, except in peak periods. You can make up to 6 bookings in one go, tickets are free, and your pass is stored electronically. All you need is a flexible schedule.
