1975-1981: Corail for comfort

As chairman from 1975 to 1981, Jacques Pélissier introduced Corail coaches—a breakthrough in passenger comfort and transport. He also completed work on the country’s first high-speed TGV line, linking Paris to south-eastern France. In the Paris region, SNCF opened RER C, the first 100% SNCF-operated regional express line.
