Terms and conditions of procurement
SNCF procurement procedures encourage competition and follow applicable law.

Qualification required
When a purchase is rail-industry specific or security-related, or requires specialized knowledge, we solicit tenders from companies we have qualified in advance. Every year, we publish a qualification notice for each procurement category in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). If your company would like to apply, please consult the notice for your category.

Qualification not required
Products, services and engineering works that do not appear in the OJEU list do not require advance qualification. In these cases, we publish tender notices and solicit tenders from companies which meet our selection criteria.
Important
We solicit tenders from as many candidate companies as required by the nature of each contract. Winning qualification or responding to a notice published in the OJEU does not guarantee that your company will be invited to tender.

Notices published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU)
The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) publishes two types of notice:
- qualification notices—for products that require advance qualification
- tender notices—for bidding on specific projects
Notices not published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU)
These announcements do not appear in official tender notices and are usually used by regions to find providers for works projects.
