FAQs for MAX JEUNE and MAX SENIOR

With your MAX JEUNE or MAX SENIOR pass, 2nd class bookings are free for all TGV INOUI destinations, INTERCITÉS trains requiring reservations, and seats and couchettes aboard INTERCITÉS overnight trains in France and to Luxembourg and Freiburg im Breisgau. Booking opens 30 days before departure.

During peak traffic periods,3 some trains are not open to MAX JEUNE and MAX SENIOR pass holders. These include TER regional trains, INTERCITÉS trains not requiring booking, and some connecting journeys. If this applies to you, check nearby cities that are covered by your pass, or divide your journey into more than one booking.

When you choose a MAX JEUNE or MAX SENIOR pass, you’re committing to at least 3 months: you may not cancel your pass during this period.

After the first 3 months, you can cancel your pass at any time up to 1 day before your billing date. It’s easy: simply log into your MAX account. If you cancel your pass before it expires, you’ll be charged a €15 processing fee on your final invoice. Cancelling is free if you’ve held your pass for over 1 year.

Changed your mind? You can withdraw your cancellation request up to the day before it takes effect by logging into your MAX account.

To book your journeys, visit the websites of the partners in our distribution network. Select your customer profile and search for your travel options. To confirm your booking, enter your pass holder number and birthdate on the contact information page.

If your journey includes a connection, you’ll need to book each leg separately. Be sure to build in enough time between connecting trains.

You’ll receive reminder emails 7, 3 and 2 days before departure. If you no longer plan to travel, please cancel your booking to release your seat for other pass holders.

On the day before departure, you’ll receive a final reminder. If you don’t confirm your journey by 17.00, your booking will be cancelled.

You can confirm or cancel a journey from your MAX account.

If you book a journey and do not cancel, you must take it.

Do you already have another reservation departing from that city on the same day? To ensure travel to the max for all pass holders, you can only book one departure per day from the same city, so you need to specify your departure time.

Have you recently run searches for travel on the same day? Check your shopping basket to make sure it’s empty.

Have you already made the maximum number of bookings? Your pass lets you make up to 6 bookings in advance, but you can’t add any more after that. To find out how many bookings you’ve made, visit your MAX account.

Are you travelling with other MAX JEUNE or MAX SENIOR pass holders? Each of you must make your own booking.

If none of these situations apply to you, your account may be suspended. If so, contact customer service for MAX JEUNE or MAX SENIOR.
