CASE STUDY

850-m trains boost European freight capacity

48 semi-trailers and 2400 tons of freight loaded : it is the capacity of the trains circulating between Perpignan and Luxembourg on a daily basis of 3 return trips. In 2016, rail-motorways contributed to remove over 60 000 trailers from european roads. This represents 62 millions truck-kilometres less and a CO2 reduction equivalent to what is consumed by a 8000ha forest per year.
