A loco for Thello

In December 2011, the first private passenger train to run on the Paris-Venice line was hauled by an Akiem locomotive under a leasing agreement with Thello, a Veolia Transport-Trenitalia joint venture. The three BB36000 locomotives selected by Thello—two for mainline traction and one for marshalling—can  operate in both France and Italy, and are the first in their class to haul a passenger train.
