Intellectual services include engineering studies, IT support, service training and communications.

You must complete our qualification process to supply intellectual services in the following areas:

  • Signalling studies and design
  • Studies/design of fixed electric traction systems

For engineering design firms, the procedure involves the following steps:

  • We conduct a preliminary interview that allows you to present your firm and your business, identify the specialization(s) and geographical areas for which you may qualify, and determine the appropriateness of launching the qualification process. The preliminary interview is conducted by a representative of the qualification body in Paris or by an SNCF purchasing representative—the choice is yours.
  • You complete a full qualification application allowing us to determine whether you have the necessary administrative, legal, financial and technical capabilities, and whether your quality management and safety process are appropriate for the services we require. This application includes the assessment form with its administrative, financial, technical and quality appendices.
  • After your application has been reviewed, the head of your firm will receive either a notice of qualification or a notice explaining why qualification has not been granted. If qualification is granted, the notice will indicate the specialization for which qualification has been granted, the maximum authorized amount and your geographical area.

All qualifications are granted on a trial basis. After you have delivered your first project, you must notify the qualification body and attach a feedback form completed by the prime contractor. Your firm will be given an opportunity to review and comment on the feedback form. Based on the evaluation of your company, qualification will be approved or withdrawn, or an additional study will be requested.

Feedback on your services: a feedback form must be completed for all services over €15,000. This allows an objective assessment of services by both parties. If necessary, the feedback process identifies areas where your firm must take corrective measures to avoid action up to and including removal from our list of qualified providers.

You will be asked for a €2,250 application fee (excluding VAT) when the qualification process begins, or when qualification is transferred from a qualified company to a non-qualified company. This amount is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of your application.
