If you live in or visit the Paris area, you’re already familiar with Transilien trains.

But did you know they carry 3 million commuters between home and work every day? Over 6,200 trains run on a 1,280-km network, with 47 Noctilien buses providing all-night service—and 22,000 SNCF employees working hard behind the scenes to make your journey easier.

Transilien works with regional authorities and the Ile-de-France transport workers’ union to promote seamless mobility throughout Greater Paris.

Transilien by SNCF:

  • 14 SNCF lines, for a regional network with multiple transport options to take you where you want to go. Examples? From Gare du Nord station in central Paris, you can head north to Roissy-CDG airport or south to the Vallée de Chevreuse. From Orly airport, there’s a direct link to Versailles.
  • train-metro connections in the heart of Paris and in the surrounding communities, plus 47 Noctilien bus lines serving 200 towns and cities to smooth your transfers and enliven your nightlife.
  • 385 stations at key points throughout the network.
